Cities Skylines 2 Highways are one of the four road types you can make and they will help you ease traffic and move around at high speeds. Unlike the first game, it is quite easier to build highways and intersect them with your cities. You don’t even need mods to do that. However, unless you are using the necessary settings or cheats, a lot of these road services will be locked once you start the game. Nevertheless, once you have sufficient development points, it will be easier to get going. If you are interested in building fast highways, this guide is all you will need.
How to Unlock Cities Skylines 2 Highways
Unless you have everything unlocked right from the start, you will have to unlock highways in order to create them. Highways are available on the Roads development tree and players will first have to invest development points to unlock Advanced Road Services. There after, players can create their own highways. Having said that, we recommend you invest a few more points on Intersections to make entrances and exits more easier.
Now, you can use the Tool Mode to make multiple lane Cities Skylines 2 Highways and then have the Intersections connect them to the other roads nearby. This will not only make connectivity easier but also save you some time. Unlike the sequel, it’s easier to connect roads this time around and once you have your Highways built, you can light up the highway route via the Road Services tab. Also, having Roadside Maintenance headquarters will help you maintain the roads and traffic lights around.
That’s all we have from this guide. Since you are playing Cities Skylines 2, our dedicated section has more guides that you will find helpful. Do check them out while you are here at Gamer Tweak.
