The Light Dragon is a type of wildlife creature that is hard to spot in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game has many other Dragons, but this one is special. The Light Dragon is your ticket to obtaining Master Sword back. So, if you are one of those veteran Zelda players looking to restore the glory of Master Sword, then you should look out for this Dragon. That being said, here’s where and how you can find the Light Dragon.
Unlike in Breath of the Wild, Dragons do not appear in any particular location. However, the Light Dragon now follows a particular route and keeps flying on it constantly. With that out of the way, here is Light Dragon’s Path.

Locating & Light Dragon & getting back Master Sword is the same. Thankfully, once you help the Great Deku Tree & have access to the ‘Recovering The Hero’s Sword’ main quest, the route or path followed by the Light Dragon will be marked on the map. Once the Light Dragon marker appears on the map, head to any closest Skyview Tower. Further, launch yourself in the air and glide near the Light Dragon to land on it.
Finding the Light Dragon during the ‘Recovering The Hero’s Sword’ in Tears of the Kingdom is best. But you can find the Light Dragon directly without accepting the quest. A Reddit user has marked the complete route of the dragon in the image below.
One more thing, you must have at least two full stamina bars/circles. Without it, you won’t be able to land on the Light Dragon and pull Master Sword from its head. For your reference, here’s our guide where we have mentioned the method to Increase Link’s Stamina & Health.
