The Lich Crystal is a limited-time Divine gear item in Grow a Garden that was added during the third part of the Halloween Event on October 25, 2025. Visually, it’s a purple crystal that glows and has some vfx around it. However, what does it actually do? Know all about it in this guide.
How to Get the Lich Crystal in Grow a Garden?
Head to the Ghosty Gadgets shop in the Halloween Market that appears at regular intervals (the countdown will be shown on the map). This is where you can buy the Lich Crystal item but it won’t always be in stock, so keep checking or follow stock trackers to know when it’s available. Buy it for Candy Corn so make sure you have earned 60 of them beforehand. You can also directly get it for 499 Robux.
Once you get it, interact with it and check the message: The crystal hums faintly… perhaps a blind creature of the night could power the crystal. This is a riddle and you can solve it to unlock the Lich Pet of the Divine rarity.
How to Get the Lich Crystal Puzzle Items
You need to place some specific pets and items in your garden to solve this entirely. They are:
- Bat (45% drop chance from the Spooky Egg)
- Crow (Obtainable by participating in the Grave digging event)
- Scarab (34.5% drop chance from the Spooky chest, and 34.5% chance from the Exotic Spooky chest)
- Spell Book cosmetic (Purchasable from the Halloween Market)
- Two Halloween Candles (15% chance to get one from a Spooky Crate)
If any of these are missing, the crystal will not merge. Instead, it will give “hint” messages that help you figure out which items are missing. For example:
- If the Bat is missing: “The crystal hums faintly… perhaps a blind creature of the night could power the crystal.”
- If the Crow is missing: “The crystal whispers… it yearns for something clever — a dark-winged carrion.”
- If the Scarab is missing: “The crystal stirs… something ancient of rebirth must crawl.”
- If the Spell Book is missing: “The crystal murmurs in a language unknown… perhaps an ancient book of spells could decipher its secrets.”
- If the two Halloween Candles are missing: “Flickers of embers are missing… the crystal yearns two candles to pierce the veil between worlds.”
Place All Items, Then Merge
Once you’ve placed the Bat, Crow, Scarab, Spell Book, and two Halloween Candles in your garden, approach the Lich Crystal. It will prompt you with a message like: “Do you want to merge your Bat, Crow, and Scarab into a Lich?”
Confirm this prompt to merge. The ingredients will be consumed, and you’ll receive the Lich pet as a reward.
Things to keep in mind:
- The required cosmetics must be placed in the garden, not just stored in your inventory.
- If the merge doesn’t trigger even though you have all items, try re-placing them in the garden.
- The merge consumes all the involved items permanently, so be sure you’re ready before confirming.
Why do all this?
Obtaining the Lich Crystal allows you to merge items into a powerful and rare pet – the Lich. It’s of the Divine rarity and has passives called Spooky Lich and Dread Lord. The former gives plants within a certain distance a higher variant chance, grow speed and size bonus, and the latter gives extra 1.5xp a second to all active Halloween pets.
