The Zen update has been quite refreshing to see in Grow a Garden because it not only added a whole Chi system and Tranquil fruits similar to Moonlit fruits, but also a brand new set of pets including the Kitsune, aka Nine Tailed Fox. In this guide, we will explain how to get this highly coveted and very first Prismatic pet in the game, which is limited-time and currently the rarest obtainable pet.
How to Get Kitsune Pet in Grow a Garden
To get the Kitsune, you need to obtain Zen Eggs because it has a 0.08% chance of hatching from it. You will need a lot of eggs to boost your chances and for that you need plenty of Chi, the event currency.
Basically, you need to be in-game during the Zen Aura event that happens once every hour and lasts for 10 minutes. During this time, the sky changes its look and gets pretty flowers, and your plants will randomly get the Tranquil mutation. You can go ahead and harvest the highlighted crop (which stays highlighted for a few seconds). However, if you miss it or have a packed garden, we recommend using the Tranquil Radar, which will harvest nearby Tranquil crops for you.
Then, submit all Tranquil plants to the merchant next to the “Trade Chi” board and you will get Chi in exchange. Then, access the Treasures shop via the same merchant, and you can purchase the Zen Egg for 30 Chi.
Once luck hits, you will be able to hatch a Kitsune aka Nine Tailed Fox in Grow a Garden after 4 hours and 10 minutes of waiting time. You can also directly buy the Zen egg for 149 Robux.
The other hatchable pets are Shiba Inu, Nihonzaru, Tanuki, Tanchozuru, and Kappa—each with their own abilities.
Visually, the Kitsune is a standout pet with a white and red design, and a red aura as well. But the most important aspect is its passive trait.
What does the Kitsune do in Grow a Garden?
The Kitsune has a passive ability called Nine-Tailed Myth where every ~22 minutes, it visits another player’s fruit, applies a Chakra mutation (x15), and duplicates the fruit. It also rarely applies the powerful Foxfire Chakra mutation (x90) which is quite the boost.
