The Finals is a unique first-person shooter game in which you play with 2 other players to fight other teams. The objective for everyone is to get the cashout boxes, deposit them in the vault, and wait till they can escape with it.

Just depositing it into the vault doesn’t guarantee you victory, you also have to wait near it till you can escape with it. This adds to the game’s thrill as you and the other team can always kill and steal the vault back.

No, The Finals is not a Battle Royale. The end goal here is very different, you have cash out with money instead of being the last team standing.

Battle Royale games typically have a theme where you have to stay in the circle within the map and fight off other players to survive. This circle keeps shrinking until only 1 player or team is left alive. As you progress you also find better loot, either from other players or from your surroundings. Some popular examples of games of this genre are Fortnite and PUBG.

Will it have a Battle Royale Mode?

While the game doesn’t have it at the time of writing this article, there is a possibility the developers might add it in the future. At present though, the game modes offered are mainly focused on 3 or 4 teams of 3 players fighting to cashout the target amount and win.

  • Tournament (Cashout): In this mode, there will be 4 teams of 3 players. You have to find the cashout boxes. Take them and deposit in the vaults. Defend yourself and prevent other players from stealing it until you can escape. This mode features both ranked and unranked matches.
  • Quick Cash: As the name suggests, it is a quick match of 3 teams. The goal is exactly the same as for Cashout. In Quick Cash, you can also respawn repeatedly and you won’t lose cash on team wipe.
  • Bank It: The goal is to reach 40,000 Cash before the timer runs out. If none of the teams achieve it, then the team with the most cash wins.

Why is The Finals so Popular?

The main reason it is so popular is possibly because of its unique objectives & features and most importantly its fun gameplay. Another one of the biggest selling points is its destruction mechanics where you can break down ceilings and walls. This not only adds to the challenge but also adds to some creative ways to fight.

Sure the extraction mechanic has been in games like Escape from Tarkov for a while now and isn’t exactly new. However, the way this game does it definitely adds to its experience.
