Genshin Impact: How to Upgrade Weapons
There are three types of weapon enhancements – you can level up weapons, ascend and refine weapons. Leveling up will boost the attack power while ascending weapons will increase its max level cap and attack power. Refining a weapon will give it an enhancement in terms of effectiveness and skills.
You can upgrade a weapon by using enhancement ores and other weapons. Basically, the experience you earn from different items can be used to level up weapons. With this process, you can make it more powerful. Do note that you can increase the weapon to level 20 but after that you will need rare materials to ascend it further. But doing it will give you a much needed stat boost.
How to Level Up Weapons
Here is the process to level up weapons:
- First open up the inventory.
- Pick the weapon you want to level up and then select Details.
- Now, choose Enhance.
- Pick the materials you need. They will get added at the bottom right section of the screen.
- Choose Enhance for the final confirmation.
- You will get a pop up which says that your process of weapon enhance was a success.
How to Ascend Weapons
Follow the same process until you end up on the screen where you see Ascend at the top left part. Use the required materials and select Ascend.
How to Refine Weapons
- Again, the process is same.
- Select inventory, then pick the weapon, select Details.
- Next, you have to select Refine.
- Choose the duplicate weapon.
- Click on Refine.
What do we mean by the duplicate weapon? Basically, you need to have one more weapon (the exact one) to refine a weapon. You can refine a weapon 5 times thereby boosting its ability but make wise decisions if you are trying to refine rare weapons.
Now, to obtain weapon ascension materials, you have to defeat enemies and get them as drops. You can also get them from the Souvenir shop or craft them.
To get weapon enhancement materials, you need to find weapon refinement ores like white iron chunks and crystal chunks that can be found while exploring. Apart form this, you can get them from blacksmith shops.
