If you find the monkey in a cage, all you need to do is use your hand axe to break the lock of the cage and free the monkey. That’s it, you don’t have to do anything else. As soon as the monkey is free and out of the cage, it will start following you.
When you find the monkeys in wild, you have to feed them with Monkey Meal to tame them in The Survivalists. To prepare a Monkey Meal, you need access to the fire. You can find a fire or create start your own campfire. Next, you need the following items:
