When Can You Preload Hogwarts Legacy (PS5 & Xbox Series X | S)
You can preload and download the Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 and Xbox consoles after purchasing the Deluxe Edition or Physical Collector’s Edition. If you have pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe edition on the new-gen consoles, you can get 72 hours of early access. That being said, the 72 hours of early access will begin on February 7th, 2023 at midnight.
Once the clock strikes midnight, you can pre-download Hogwarts Legacy right away. Being the Global early access, time zones may differ according to your region. So, here’s the map revealing the exact time zone for PS5 & Xbox Series X | S consoles:

Steam & The Epic Games Store Early Access
Similar to the console players, PC players will be able to hop on the Hogwarts Express on February 7th, 2023. However, there is no option to preload Hogwarts Legacy for Steam or Epic Games Store. So, you might have to wait for a while till you reach Hogwarts school. Regardless, you can pre-download the game and launch it on the release date.
Hogwarts Legacy File Size
Now, before we pre-download or preload the game, it is crucial to know its download file size. Or else, you might end up unable to download Hogwarts Legacy at all. Here’s the file size for PC and consoles:
- Xbox Series X | S: 76.67 GB
- PS5: 79.5 GB
- Windows PC: 85 GB
As the devs can also release first-day patches or updates, this file size might increase. So, make sure to keep additional hard drive space free. The Hogwarts Legacy releases on February 10th, 2023 at 09:00 PM (PST)/ 12:00 AM EST & GMT.
