To survive in Dead Rails, you will feel the need to have money so that you can buy better weapons, ammo, armor and more essential items such as Coal, Snake Oil and Bandages. If you’re looking to get rich quickly, here’s how to make money fast in Dead Rails in every run.
How to Make Money Fast in Dead Rails
Loot Zombie-Infested Towns
One of the easiest ways to make money is by raiding abandoned towns crawling with zombies. It is dangerous, but if you play with friends that you have good synergy with, the rewards are worth it.
- Clear the Town – Take out the zombies to gain access to the loot.
- Grab Everything – Pick up weapons, supplies, and anything valuable.
- Sell at Trading Posts – Head to the nearest Trading Post and cash in your loot.
If you run out of inventory space, store extra items on your train and sell them later.

Kill Bandits for Quick Cash
You will see plenty of Bandits scattered across the map, and you can exchange their corpses for money. They are armed, so make sure you’re well-equipped before you try to go against them.
- Take Down the Bandits – Bring a good weapon and shoot the heads to save ammo. Avoid attacking the horse.
- Claim Bounties – Capture or kill bandits and turn them in at the Sheriff’s office for about $35 per bandit.
Sell Creatures for Big Payouts
If you’re feeling brave, hunting supernatural creatures is another great way to make money. You can also stay inside the town, wait until the turrets take down the monsters and go ahead to collect their corpses.
- Vampires – Appear during the red moon and can be sold for around $15 each.
- Werewolves – Show up when the moon is extra big and go for $20 each.
- Unicorns – Super rare, found in desert areas, and worth a whopping $250!
- Hunting these creatures isn’t easy at least in the beginning, so make sure you’re well-equipped before going on the hunt.
Rob the Desert Bank for Gold Bars
If you’re looking for a high-risk, high-reward method, robbing the desert bank is the way to go.
- Find the Bank – Look for the building clearly marked as a Bank in the desert.
- Defeat the Zombie Bank Manager wearing a Top Hat – He’s guarding the vault code—take him down to get it.
- Steal the Gold – Each gold bar sells for $50 at Trading Posts. You will also obtain other valuable items from here.
- This method takes some planning, but the payout is worth it
Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Upgrade Your Train – A train equipped with a turret gun, and other protective measures will help against enemies when they try to swarm you. This needs money so make sure you have farmed cash and purchased the necessary items at the previous town.
- Work with a Team – The game is much easier (and more profitable) with friends or even random players.
