The Twisted mutation in Grow a Garden isn’t great in terms of value multiplier, however, when combined with another mutation, it gets you a much higher boost. Here’s everything you need to know about obtaining it and how you can make your garden even more valuable.

How to Get Twisted Mutation in Grow a Garden
The Twisted mutation can be obtained during the Tornado weather event that can happen randomly. It’s a standard weather so you don’t have to wait for “admin abuse” to see it occur. During ‘Tornado’, the sky turns cloudy and multiple tornadoes appear across the map.
You can also use the Pterodactyl pet because its ability can apply Twisted to crops. Note that it cannot apply it if the plant already has Windstruck on it. The pet is currently unobtainable because it was tied to the Dinosaur update but you can trade another pet for it with a friend or random player to still get it in your garden.
Here are the abilities of the Pterodactyl:
- Sky Reptile: Occasionally applies Windstruck mutation to ~4 nearby fruits with a chance of 19.06% for Twisted.
- Air Time: Grants an additional 14.39% increase to player jump height
The value multiplier of Twisted is x5 which is good if the crop has a decent base value. But if you want to wait a bit more until the crop also gets the Windstruck mutation, it will convert to Tempestuous which has a x19 value multiplier. It will remove Windstruck and Twisted from the crop and only show Tempestuous and the other mutations that it has received.
