In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, your island has a rating. Improving your island rating will not only make your island perfect but it will also give you some awesome unlocks. In this quick guide, you will know how to get a 3 Star island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH).
How to Raise your Island’s Rating to 3 Stars?
If you are wondering why you should consider raising the rating of your island to 3 stars, here’s a pretty good reason. K.K. Slider, the famous musician, will hold a concert on your island if it has a three star rating.
Not just that, you will also unlock the ability to terraform your island through the Island Designer app on your Nook Phone. It’s quite a good feature to have so increasing the rating of your island should be at the top of your list. Here’s how to do it.
Visit Isabelle for Island Evals
Once you upgrade your Resident Services from a tent to a building, you will get the option to check your island’s rating. Talk to Isabelle right there and choose Let’s talk island evals. She will tell you if you have a one or two star rating.
Ask her how you can improve your island’s rating to 3 stars. She will give you proper instructions to do the same. Follow it diligently and check back with her to see if your island rating improved.
Your rating could be determined by these elements:
- Fences
- Outdoor furniture
- Weeds
- Bridges and Inclines
- Villagers
- Trees
- Flowers
There are many things to do to improve your island rating to 3 stars. Let’s take a look at them in detail.
Add fences to your island
Beautify your island by making gardens and adding fences to them. Put fences around homes or anywhere you wish. Just make sure to add a lot of them.
Place furniture outdoors
Putting a variety of furniture outside will increase your chances of improving your rating to 3 stars. You can use DIY recipes to craft furniture because crafted furniture has a higher value. Placing beautiful items on your island will give you the boost you need to level up the rating. You might need to put 20+ furniture items outside. The more the merrier!
Remove the weeds
In order to make your island visually stunning, you will need to pull out weeds. Check for areas where weeds are very prominent and get rid of them. Although it is not essential to pull every single weed, you can ensure an improvement in the rating if you manage to clean it up entirely.
Add flowers
Who doesn’t like a town filled with lovely flowers? Simply get some seeds from Timmy and Tommy and get planting! You can also get them from deserted islands. Use your shovel to pick them up entirely and plant them on your own island. Planting flowers and making them bloom will give you a higher chance of enhancing your island’s rating. Flowers will take 3 days to bloom so plan accordingly.
Plant lots of trees
Trees are yet another element that will further beautify your island. You can grow some fruit trees or pick up a non-native tree from a Mystery Island Tour. Whatever you choose to do, make sure that you plant enough trees to grant you a 3 star rating.
Invite villagers
Any thriving town is filled with villagers and that’s exactly what you need to do. Get some villagers to your island as fast as possible. You will need about 7 villagers to reach the 3 star level. If that doesn’t work, try getting some more. Here’s a handy guide on how to get more villagers to your island easily.
Put bridges and inclines
If you have some money saved up, you can place some bridges and inclines on your island. Tom Nook can get them made for you. Adding more infrastructure to your island will liven up your town but it’s pretty expensive. So, keep some bells aside for this task beforehand.
Upgrade the facilities on your island
It’s essential to have facilities on your island so that it deserves a 3 star rating. Important ones like the Museum and the Able Sisters’ Shop have to be on your island.
Doing all of this will give your island the coveted 3 star rating. Then, you can begin your quest for that all-important 5 star rating! If you liked this guide, be sure to check out our Animal Crossing New Horizons Wiki Guide for more useful info.
