Apart from the Weather Totems, Sundial, Meteor and Aurora Totem, there’s a new addition that can help you activate an event and that’s the Avalanche Totem in Fisch. It activates the Avalanche event and can be useful since they are quite rare naturally. If you’ve got your eyes on Heavens rod, one of the Energy Crystals you need for it (Yellow), requires the Avalanche event to be active.
Where to Find the Avalanche Totem in Fisch (Location)
Head to Northern Expedition’s Northern Summit area to find the Avalanche Totem. Its GPS coordinates are X: 19708 Y: 467 Z: 6058. Make sure you have purchased an Oxygen tank and have a Glider to access these areas without dying quickly. The totem is hidden behind a huge rock, but if you follow the coordinates, and climb the ladders accordingly, you will find it without much effort.
Unlike the weather and Sundial totems, the Avalanche totem is quite expensive, costing 150,000C$ for a single use. If you have farmed this amount of cash, interact with the totem to buy it, equip it in your hand and click on it to trigger the event.
What does an Avalanche do?
The Avalanche event causes ice blocks to fall from the mountain and lasts for around 30 seconds. In case it hits you along the way, it pushes you away. However, you can protect yourself by taking cover in a cave. Since you’d need it to find the Yellow Energy Crystal, the location you must go to for it is at the GPS coordinates: X: 19500, Y: 335, Z: 5550.
To avoid making your way to the top every time you are here, you can talk to the Innkeeper and set this island as your spawn point every time your character dies or when you spawn into the game for the first time. Make sure you also have a Winter Cloak, and keep track of your heat/temperature by getting to campfires so that you can explore the region for longer.
