In Fisch, having the right fishing rod can make a world of a difference, and after the latest update, you can get your hands on the Aurora rod as well. This is the most expensive rod at the time of writing because you also require the Aurora Totem for it. If you have collected more than 600,000C$, here’s how you can get both of these items.
How to Get the Aurora Totem in Fisch
First, you need the Aurora totem to trigger the server-wide Aurora Borealis event. This gives a massive luck boost to all players (6x) and stays around for the entire night.
To get this particular totem, you must make your way to the Brine Pool which can be accessed via the Desolate Deep region. Make sure you have already purchased the advanced diving gear from the red buoy behind Sunstone Island because it’s crucial to make your way to the Brine Pool. You also need a glider to reach the location.
Once you’re there, you can buy the Aurora totem for 500,000C$ from a small area that you will need to squeeze into. It’s an extremely expensive purchase which is why it’s quite rare to see it in-game. Keep in mind that the effects of the totem only last for around 10 minutes, so you must rush to Vertigo before time runs out.
How to Get the Aurora Rod in Fisch (Location)
Now that you have an Aurora Totem, you can use it to spawn the Aurora Rod in Synth’s store which can be found in Vertigo — a cave-like location. This is a hidden spot which can be accessed via a strange whirlpool that you may spot out in the Ocean. It will also have wind blowing upwards, so it should be easily visible from afar at any time of the day. When a whirlpool appears, you will see this message on your screen: A strange whirlpool has opened.
Make sure you have the fastest boat to help look for a whirlpool quickly. When you find and jump into one, you will sink and find yourself in Vertigo. Nearby, there will be a shop run by the NPC Synth. This is also where you can buy the Nocturnal rod and the Conception Conch (C$444) which is needed to exit Vertigo. But if you’re here for the Aurora rod, you must shell out a whopping C$90,000 to buy it.
The Aurora Rod has 10% Lure Speed, 60% Luck, 0.06 Control, 6% Resilience, and 6000kg max weight. These are the stats as of now, and they may change in the future.
The best part of this rod is that the Aurora Mutation (which enables fish to get sold for 6.5x times its price) can only be obtained with this rod, so if farming money is your next big goal, it might be worth investing into this rod.
