What the incense does is that it boosts the amount of Lucre you get after defeating your opponents. But it does this only for a little while – ten minutes to be exact. So your best bet is to farm money in places where you will find a lot of enemies to beat.
There are three types of incense, namely broad incense, rare incense and opulent incense. It increases the money you earn by 10%, 15% and 20% respectively. As you can see, with an increase in the rarity of the incense, its power to provide Lucre also increases.
