With every new Grow a Garden update, there’s a new shop that lets you unlock various limited-time seeds, gear, cosmetics, and pets via eggs, and this time, the event currency is Chi points. The theme for this update is Zen aura, and the important mutation this time is ‘Tranquil’, which occurs during the Zen event. Here’s everything you need to know about getting Chi so that you can unlock various themed items before the event ends.

How to Get Chi Points in Grow a Garden
If you played during the Bizzy Bee or the Lunar Glow update, this works similarly. You need to submit specific plants (Tranquil mutated plants) to the Tanuki NPC located in the center, you get event currency in exchange. You can then use it to access the shop’s items and purchase anything you like.
Here’s how the process works:
- Wait in-game until you see the Zen aura weather. There will be a timer at the center of the map near the Zen Channeller NPC.
- When it’s time, the Tranquil mutation will be applied to a random crop every 30 seconds and the event lasts for 10 minutes overall. The sky will change its look and get this design and you’ll hear soothing music as well.
- Harvest a Tranquil mutated crop and give it to the Tanuki. He will exchange it to Chi and the amount he gives depends on the rarity of the crop. If the crop has Gold or Rainbow mutations, it will give extra 2 or 4 Chi respectively. But here’s how much the base crops will give you:
- Common: 1
- Uncommon: 2
- Rare: 3
- Legendary: 4
- Mythical: 5
- Divine: 6
- Prismatic: 7
- Transcendent: 8
- If you give the Tranquil plants to the Zen Channeller, you will get Chi, which will be spent to grow the Zen tree. As you exchange plants, it will keep growing until its 7th stage and every stage will unlock specific items from the Tranquil Treasures shop. This includes Zen eggs, seed pack, crate, gnome crate and Chi points in Grow a Garden.
Once you have collected enough Chi points, interact with the Tanuki merchant and explore the Tranquil Treasures shop. Purchase the items that you prefer and you are ready to use them on your garden. You can get various Zen-themed plants, items, pets and even mutation sprays.
