Jesters in Lethal Company are hostile monsters that are found indoors in high-level moons. They may look friendly compared to the other outright scary creatures, but this one is very dangerous. With a Jack-in-a-Box design with two legs, this enemy will initially just move around but, randomly, it will start winding itself up. As soon as the winding up animation is over, a big skull will pop out of the box and if you are caught anywhere near it, you will die. It will get faster, chase everyone, and ensure that your crew’s dead.
In case your group has previously succumbed to the attacks of the Jester and you are looking for ways to evade, escape, counter, or even kill it in Lethal Company, here’s everything you need to know.

How to Survive the Jester in Lethal Company
How to not die to the Jester? You must leave the building as soon as you see or hear it winding up. Note that while it’s doing its cranking, it won’t be able to move. Communicate with your team that you’ve spotted a Jester and instruct everyone to evacuate immediately!
Also, remember that it cannot wind up while it is stunned, but once the stun wears off, it will start doing it again.
Jester has Two Forms
Similar to the Flower Man (Bracken), it has a passive mode and an aggressive mode.
- Box Form: When it’s in the box form, it will follow you around for about 20-40 seconds. It won’t attack you during this time. Then, it will stop and begin its winding animation while playing the music of Pop Goes the Weasel, which keeps getting faster. This is the sign for all players to escape (you have around 30 seconds to get away).
- Skull Form: Its second form is when the giant skull pops out of the same box. If you are caught in its vicinity after its skull pops out, there’s no escaping from it.
As the Jester Bestiary Entry says – you can’t hide from it, just evacuate!
Can you kill the Jester?
No, you cannot kill the Jester in Lethal Company. It has no specific weakness and there’s no trick to take down this enemy. The only way to ‘counter’ it is to exit. Unlike the Bracken, who can be stunned and killed if the team works together, the Jester is unkillable.
As soon as all your allies have left the building, the Jester will go back to its box form 5 seconds after that.
That’s how to deal with the Jester in Lethal Company. With that out of the way, you might want to know how to survive Manticoils, and how to deal with the Spore Lizard or Snare Flea in Lethal Company – if yes, we’ve got you covered.
