Animal Crossing New Horizons Horned Atlas
As mentioned, Northerners can catch the Horned Atlas from July to August which isn’t such a long time if you compare to some other bugs. Those in the Southern Hemisphere can find it on their islands from January to February.
The timings for catching this bug are 5 pm to 8 am (the next day) and you can find it on Palm Trees. If you don’t have Palm trees on your island, you can do one of two things to get it. You can visit an island with Palm trees using a Nook Miles Ticket. When you are there, you can eat a fruit and pick up a tree to plant on your own island.
The other option you have is to plant a coconut on your island. Our detailed guide on how to plant a Palm tree will help you out.
As soon as you spot it, slowly approach it and swing your net to catch it. You can move towards it by holding A and then release the button to catch the Horned Atlas in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Like usual, you can either donate this bug to Blathers’ Museum or you can sell it. If you decide to sell it, you will get 8000 Bells which shows how valuable this bug is. Its capture quote includes a nice play on words – “I caught a Horned Atlas! I didn’t even need a map!”
