Overwatch 2 features all the original characters of Overwatch including the first new character that was introduced in old Overwatch, Ana. Ana Amari originates from Cairo, Egypt, and is known to be one of the founding members of Overwatch. Let’s take a look at how you can play Ana efficiently in Overwatch 2.
How to Play Ana Amari in Overwatch 2
Ana is a support class character which means she is responsible for keeping her team alive. Despite this, Ana packs a lot of firepower that helps take down the opposing team. Her abilities are as follows:
- Biotic Rifle: Long-Range rifle that damages enemies and heals allies.
- Sleep Dart: Fires a dart that can put enemies to sleep.
- Biotic Grenade: Throws a grenade that damages enemies and prevents them from healing and heals allies.
- Nano Boost: Increase an ally’s damage while also reducing damage taken.
How to Dominate as Ana
Let’s start with the weapon Ana has in Overwatch 2. You need to understand that when you scope in with the Biotic Rifle, the bullets are hit-scan. This means they will hit where you are aiming the moment you fire. When it’s not scoped in, the bullets have a travel time, requiring you to lead your shots. You will need to master unscoped shooting with Ana as it is the key to surviving close-range engagements.
As Ana, you need to position yourself in a way that most of your teammates are visible to you while also being far from engagements. When an enemy tries to push at close range, use your Biotic Grenade in a way that hits both you and the enemy. This will make opponents back off as they will lose health while you gain it. In such a case, you can also use Sleep Dart.
However, Sleep Dart is more efficiently used when you need to cancel someone out of their ability. For example, when a Reinhardt uses his Charge ability, you can Sleep Dart him to stop him in place. However, the best way to use Sleep Dart with Ana is to cancel ultimates in Overwatch 2.
With Ana, you can also punish Tanks that push in too much. Once the Tank is pushed into your team, use a combo of Biotic Grenade and Sleep Dart which will prevent them from healing while your team takes them down before they can retreat. Make sure your team has your healing support while also putting in damage. Balancing this healing and attacking act while staying at a distance is key to playing Ana.
