Who is Mauga in Overwatch 2?
Mauga is a part of Talon, a group of hard-fighting mercenaries led by Doomfist. He takes up the role of Heavy Assault and is a former friend of Baptiste. The character was first seen in the 2019 short story What You Left Behind. The story follows Baptiste on a trip to his native land of Haiti. Things take a turn when his former brothers-in-arms Nguyen and Mauga show up to convince him to join them.
A tall and imposing figure, Mauga is built to be a Tank. His personality traits of switching between jovial to violent are what make him such an intriguing character. Fans have been waiting quite a while for Mauga to be added to the game. He was first intended to be Hero 31, but that slot was filled by Sigma. The team promised fans that Mauga will eventually become a playable character in the future.
Will Mauga Be in the Next Season of OW2?
Season 4 is set to launch on the 11th of April 2023.The team behind Overwatch 2 plans to keep to their goal of adding at least one new hero every season. But Bizzard has confirmed that the next hero will be a supporting character. This makes Mauga’s addition highly unlikely. With his Tank spot taken by the addition of Ramattra, Mauga will have to wait a while before he can wreak some havoc in the game.
