How To Activate Autopilot In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Updated Date :

Microsoft Flight Simulator had a rough take off with issues like crashing to desktop and stuck on loading screen. But those errors aside, the game is a visual treat and a milestone in the world of gaming. To experience the beauty of the world while flying your plane and to just generally relax in your aircraft, you might need the autopilot feature sometimes. If you don’t know how to do that, this guide on how to turn on autopilot in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 will explain it to you.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Autopilot: How to Activate

Here are the steps to engage autopilot in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Go to the main menu and click on the pilot head icon. When you do that, you will see the AI Control menu where there will be Checklist Assist, Manage Radio Comms and Control Aircraft. For the autopilot, you need to turn the Control Aircraft option ON. When you do that, you can enjoy the beauty of the world while the AI controls the plane.

If you want to know what the other two options mean, here’s more about it:

Checklist Assist: When you select this, the pre-flight checks will be done by the AI.

Manage Radio Comms: With this, the AI takes care of the air traffic control communications.

How to Disable Autopilot

In case you don’t want to use autopilot anymore, you can press Ctrl + Alt + X to disable it. Remember that if you want all your flights to start with autopilot, simply avoid deactivating it.
