Fortnite is one of the rare games that is always changing. With each new season comes a ton of new emotes, skins, and mind-blowing player events. But the core mechanics of the game remain the same-Shooting and Building. But which guns do the most damage? We’ll take a look at the guns that give the most damage per second (DPS) in Fortnite.
Fortnite Guns that do the Most Damage
- Thunder Shotgun – With a DPS of 85.27 in the epic and 90.28 in the legendary variant, the Thunder Shotgun has a fire rate of 0.76. This combination currently makes it the best shotgun you can get your hands on.
- RPG – Like in all gun-based games, the RPG is all about damage. The base damage of 115 and 130 in epic and legendary variants might be enough for most but the high structural damage stats of 315/330 make this a favorite for the fort breaks in the crowd.
- Red-eye Assault Rifle -The gun makes up for its low 25-bullet mag size with a steady 133 DPS and reduced recoil. Accuracy is what this gun demands as the low fire rate will force you to pick your targets carefully.
Vaulted Weapons
These are guns that are only available for a limited time, after which they are taken out of play. You can try all the vaulted weapons in creative mode.
- Zappertron-With two alternative shooting styles; A bust fire that causes 50 damage with each hit and a charged shot that does 150 damage, the Zappertron was the only energy-based weapon in the game at the time of its release. This energy-based sniper rifle only came in the legendary variant and was a gun so overpowered that Epic hasn’t bought it back to the battle royale mode since 2017.
- Double-barreled Shotgun-Like all other shotguns, the Double-Barreled Shotgun requires you to be in close proximity to your opponent for maximum effect. You could find this in the epic and legendary class with each of the two shots packing base damage of 114 to 120.
- Tommy Gun-Even though the Tommy gun was in battle royale mode for just 2 months, it still remains a fan favorite thanks to its 50-round magazine size and low reload time. The base damage of 27 combined with the high fire rate and magazine size always lead to an instakill in most situations.
While these are the guns that do the most damage, choosing a weapon just based on its stats is not recommended as each gun has its own unique feel. The only way to find the right gun you need to get that victory royale is by trying your hands on all the weapon types you can find.
