Elden Ring: How To Get To Mohg

Wondering which is the fastest way that lets you get to Mohg in Elden Ring? Don’t worry, you aren’t alone, several players are rushing to him. While he may be an optional boss for the base game, you can’t access the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC without defeating him. He along with Radahn are the main requirements to access the Land of Shadow. So no matter if it is your first playthrough, whether you have already beaten the game, or are doing some challenge like RL1, these are both the methods that give you access to his palace.

How to Reach Mohg in Elden Ring (Get to Lord of Blood)

You can get to Mohg by either using his Bloodied Teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield or via Varré’s questline. Do note that for the DLC you need to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood, and not Mohg, the Omen. The latter is a variant of the same boss that you can find in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds in Leyndell, Royal Capital. But let us not digress, here is how both methods will work.

Using Varré’s Questline to Get to Mohg

Screenshot: Gamer Tweak. Progress Varré’s questline to get to Mohg in Elden Ring.
    1. Talk to White Mask Varré at the start then continue progressing until you defeat Godrick the Grafted.
    2. Go to the Rose church.
    3. You can find him outside the church.
    4. Talk to him and when he asks for your impression of the Two fingers choose “They didn’t seem right”.
    5. Exhaust his dialogues to get 5x Festering Bloody Finger from him.
    6. Invade any random players 3 times. Just invading them is enough you can leave without fighting.
    7. Go back and talk to Varré.
    8. He will now give you “Lord of Blood’s Favor”.
    9. You need to soak it in the blood of a maiden.
    10. Next, either teleport to the Chapel of Anticipation from the second belfry at The Four Belfries and soak the blood of the maiden inside. Alternatively, you can also kill Irina for it (she dies anyway when you deliver her letter to her father).
    11. Go back to the Rose church and talk to Varré.
    12. Now, you will get the Pureblood Knight’s Medal.
    13. Go to your inventory and use it to get teleported to Mohgwyn Palace.

This is the best method because you can use it quite early on especially if you are on a new game and haven’t progressed to other regions.

Getting to Mohg Using Bloodied Portal

Screenshot: Gamer Tweak. Using the Bloodied Portal in Consecrated Snowfield to reach Mohg in Elden Ring.

For players that don’t have Consecrated Snowfield unlocked you can get here after you have both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. You can find its left half at Castle Sol by defeating Commander Niall. This is located on the Mountaintops of the Giants. As for its right half, go to the Village of the Albinaurics Site of Grace. Next, find and hit Albus, he is disguised as a pot. After having access to both pieces you can use Grand Lift of Rold and choose “Hoist secret medallion”.

    1. From the Consecrated Snowfield site of grace head north west.
    2. The closest site of grace to the portal is the Yelough Anix Tunnel.
    3. You should get to the area with red petals on the ground.
    4. Next, continue northwest and you should spot an Albinauric enemy looking in the direction of the portal.
    5. You can ignore it and directly use it to get to a tunnel that takes you to the Mohgwyn Palace.

That sums up both methods to get to Mohg in Elden Ring. In case you are having trouble fighting the Lord of Blood you can try using Seppuku on both weapons on two bleed weapons of your choice to deal him a lot of damage fast. As for help on other topics, you should check out how to change affinity and where to find the Fire Scorpion Charm talisman.
