This purple marker appears on your GPS Locator as soon as you initiate the first story quest, where you have to find the Team B members. Simply head near the location and you’ll spot an orange sheltered raft floating in the ocean. And the only way to get near the raft is to take a dive and swim. Once you are near it, look for a yellow ladder and press the prompt button i.e. E to climb. After that, simply grab the Pistol and the purple GPS Locator from the team B member’s corpse.
But before you dive in, make sure you save your game by building a shelter. And also ensure that you have some medicine on you and that your health & stamina bar is full.
