There’s a plethora of different types of weapons in COD Modern Warfare for players to choose from. One of these includes the M16 which is an Assault rifle. Similar to the previous installments, this AR weapon can shoot three-round bursts. As a result of this, you can get one of the highest time to kill (TTK). On top of that, it is a pretty versatile Assault rifle that can destroy your enemies in long as well as short range. But several players are confused about unlocking this weapon. How to Unlock & Get M16 in MW2
Unlike previous COD titles, unlocking weapons is quite different in Modern Warfare 2. You can unlock the M16 assault rifle by leveling up different weapons within the same category known as Platforms. To unlock the M16, you need to level up the 556 Icarus to level 13. But before that, you need to unlock the 556 Icarus. Follow the below steps to unlock the M16 Assault Rifle in MW2:
- Firstly, you need to level up the M4 weapon to level 19.
- This would unlock the 556 Icarus assault rifle. Now, you need to grind on the 556 Icarus and level it up to level 13.
- Once you have leveled up the 556 Icarus to level 13, you will unlock the M16 assault rifle.
- As you unlock the M16, you will also unlock its different customization and loadout options.
While the grind can be a bit exhausting and time-consuming, we suggest sticking to the same weapons for unlocking it faster. For example, as you level up the M4 weapon, avoid switching it with a different weapon to level up faster. Once you unlock the 556 Icarus, stick to the same weapon until you unlock the M16 AR. This would help you unlock the M16 assault rifle faster.
