Aside from spending your precious time and effort, you can simply find a Wandering Merchant and purchase Leather from him. It should cost you around 150 Gold to get one Leather.

To find a merchant quickly, head over to the Small Settlement as shown in the image above. There, you will find the trader and easily get the Leather.
