Players can get the Gelatinous Mass in Final Fantasy 16 by beating the Flan Prince, a Notorious Mark on the Hunt Board. To unlock this enemy, first, you must unlock the Hunt Board by completing the “Gathering Storm” quest. Then, you must complete the “Capital Punishment” main quest to access this enemy on the Hunt Board.
Finding the Flan Prince in FF16
Once you unlock the Flan Prince, head over to the Hunt Board at the Hideaway and accept the bounty. Then to find this enemy:
- Open the map and travel to the “Auldhyl Docks”.
- Then, head over to the marker to the north of “Hawk’s Cry Cliff” in Rosaria.
- You can use a mount to reach there faster.
- Once you reach the marker, dismount and wait for the Flan Prince to reveal himself.
Beating Flan Prince to Get Gelatinous Mass in FF16
The Flan Prince is an “A” ranked Notorious Mark, so beating him is no easy task. However, you must defeat him to get the Gelatinous Mass material. So make sure you have your best armor and all the health potions that you can carry. Along with that, carry a lot of Stoneskin Tonics to boost your defense.
The Flan Prince has a plethora of dynamic attacks in its arsenal. It can attack you from any distance and cause significant damage. It can use the Blizzaga Ice Spikes, Tornado Blasts, Stonega Rock Blasts, and more elemental attacks. Apart from that, it can also use melee attacks with its tentacle-like limbs. The only way to beat this enemy is to keep attacking it till it staggers. Then, unleash all of your Eikonic attacks to deplete its health.
Once you beat this enemy, you will get the Gelatinous Mass as a reward.
Where to Use Gelatinous Mass in Final Fantasy 16
In FF16, you can use the Gelatinous Mass to craft the Drakeslayer’s Bracelets at the Blacksmith in Hideaway. You’ll have to unlock the recipe first by completing the Blacksmith’s Blues side quest. Once you do that, you’ll need the following materials along with the mass:
- Scarletite
- Dragon Talon
- Briar Clam Shells x20
