In Elden Ring, Halberds provide a steady distribution between a moderate damage and longer reach. Forged with blackened corpse wax, Gargoyle’s Black Halberd provides its wielder the ability to deal holy damage. The halberd requires a strength level 26, dex level 10 and faith level 22. The skill shot of this weapon is the Spinning Slash and it can be upgraded using Smithing Stones. To get the Gargoyle’s Black Halberd in Elden Ring you need to beat the optional boss Black Blade Kindred.
How to Get the Gargoyle’s Black Halberd in Elden Ring
While you need to defeat the main bosses to progress in the story, defeating the optional bosses gives you a variety of items. One such optional boss is the Black Blade Kindred, found in the Dragonbarrow. On the northeast of the Third Church of Marika in Limgrave lies the sending gate which will guide the way to the Bestial Sanctum. Just outside the Bestial Sanctum stands the Black Blade Kindred like a statue.
He will not attack you until you attack him. To get the Gargoyle’s Black Halberd in Elden Ring you have to beat the Black Blade Kindred. Defeating Black Blade Kindred is difficult because of his high HP and attacks that will cause serious damage to you. To counter his attacks you have to time your rolls, left or right movement perfectly.
The use of magic will improve your chances owing to the nature of Black Blade Kindred’s spawn. Since it won’t attack you on its own you can use the Terra Magica spell near the sanctum before you proceed to attack him and increase the magic damage to bring down its HP. This does not guarantee you defeating him in one go but it will give you a good head start.
If you enter the Sanctum to avoid its attacks it might not give you the desired result since. Most of its attacks will deal damage to you even inside the Sanctum. It would be a better choice to run around the Sanctum and wait for him to go back to his spawn location.
Once you beat Black Blade Kindred he will drop two items, the Gargoyle’s Black Halberd and the Gargoyle’s Blackblade. There are many Elden Ring Hidden Bosses, optional and main but defeating them all has its own importance as you move further in the game.
