Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an absolute delight in terms of storyline and combat. But one thing that separates it from other open-world games is its free roaming. Insomniac has given enough traversal techniques like web-swinging, web-wings, air tricks, etc to keep us entertained. While playing as Miles and Peter wasn’t enough for fans, they have found a glitch that allows them to free-roam as Venom.
YES! You heard it right. You can free roam as Venom in Spiderman 2 but after performing a small glitch. So if you want to relive the days when we used to play as Venom in the Ultimate Spider-Man game, then here’s how you can do it in Insomniac’s flagship title.
Here’s How to Free Roam as Venom in Spider-Man 2
To free roam across the streets of New York as Venom, you first need to reach the mission that unlocks Venom. This happens pretty late in the campaign during the “Don’t Be Scared”. Once you get control of Venom, here’s how to trigger the glitch and free roam as him in Spiderman 2:
- Defeat all the Security Guards and get outside of Oscorp as intended.
- Once you hit the streets and face off hunters, don’t fight them.
- Instead, go to the building on your left and spam X on your controller to climb on it.
- Keep climbing until you reach the very top of the building.
- Now, there are two invisible walls to your left and right.
- You need to try to walk through the right invisible wall several times. This will unlock the wall on the left.
- After the left invisible wall is unlocked, jump off the building and you are good to go.
That’s how you free-roam as Venom in Spiderman 2. However, since the game is not yet designed to play as him, you might notice a lot of bugs and unrendered frames. Don’t forget to visit the Wakanda Embassy and pay tribute to T’Challa as Venom. It will make your day.
