If you are unable to download Hogwarts Legacy or stuck while unpacking the game, it might be because of your installation drive. Mostly, the downloading or unpacking speed depends on your PC or drive. So, freeing up the space on your installation drive might resolve the issues for PC and consoles.

You can uninstall or delete the games that you are not playing currently to solve this issue. Since unpacking the game can take additional space, try to free as much space as possible. Furthermore, there are some other ways to resolve the not downloading or stuck on unpacking issue for PC players. They are as follows:

Clear Steam Download Cache

There’s a workaround for the players that downloaded the game from Steam. For some players, clearing out their Steam download cache resolved these issues. You can try clearing out the cache to check if you can download the game. One of the Reddit user, Darkchick3n, stated that uninstalling Steam and their old games seem to resolve the issue. You can check out the thread over here.

Follow the below steps to clear the download cache:

  • Head over to Steam and hover over the Steam option to the extreme top-left corner.
  • Hit the Settings option from the drop-down option.
  • Then, select the Downloads tile from the left pane.
  • Lastly, hit the Clear download cache and select the Yes option.
  • Once you have cleared the Cache, unpack the game and check if you can install Hogwarts Legacy.

Reinstalling Hogwarts Legacy

Finally, if none of the above methods resolved the issues, you can reinstall Steam. Along with Steam, all of your installed games will also be wiped out. This will free up space to unpack and install the game into your PC. Or you can also take a backup before reinstalling Steam.
