The only way to obtain the Auric Rod is through a Sunken Chest. These chests spawn randomly near any island in the Ocean and can only be unlocked once. So, when you see a chat message saying that Sunken Chest has spawned near a certain island, hop onto the fastest boat you have and get there before anyone else. Even then, there’s no guarantee that you will find the Auric Rod because it has a 0.25% chance of appearance in a Normal Sunken chest and a 2.50% chance in a Mythic one.
The best part of Auric Rod is that every fish caught with the Auric Rod has a chance of having a mutation ranging from Aurous (2x), Aurelian (3x), Aureate (4x), Aurulent (5x), or Aureolin (5x).
