One of the new additions to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is that you can use keys to open vaults that are packed with great loot. If you are new to the game or wondering where to find vault keys in Fortnite, note that their locations are randomized, but there are a few locations you can explore more specifically.
Where to Find Vault Keys in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
Players can obtain Vault keys from places where there are chests and ground loot. So, there are no specific spawn locations for keys and they are pretty rare, but your chances may be higher if you head to the areas where there’s more ground loot as well as Chrome chests. Try heading to The Reality Tree, Lustrous Lagoon, Fort Jonesy, Tilted Towers, and Herald’s Sanctum POIs for better luck with these keys.
As soon as you see a glowing item floating above the ground while exploring, head over to it and pick it up by following the on-screen prompt. Their drop rates are very low, so you will have to really keep your eye out for them on the map.
How to Use Vault Keys?
- Once you have the Vault key, head to a Vault location on your map (indicated by keyhole signs) and interact with it with the “Use Key” option.
- Enter it and you will get rare chests and more loot to collect. There’s a chance you might find more keys in the chests within the vaults as well.
- An important thing to note is that some vaults may need two keys instead of one (and has better loot), so be sure to constantly be on the hunt for them in Chapter 3 Seasons 4. The number of keys you have will be shown in a separate section on the UI on the right side of the screen.
