Baldur’s Gate 3: Where To Find Night Orchids

Check out this guide to know where to find Night Orchids in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Gaining the approval of your companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 might be difficult, especially if you intend to romance them in the future. Shadowheart, the devoted Sharran Cleric, is one such character companion who is far from easy to engage in romance with. Progressing her companion questline will lead you through the Gauntlet of Shar in Act 3 of BG3, and if you want to get her approval before then, you will have to make some right decisions and provide her with some gifts that she might like.

One such item that players can offer Shadowheart to gain her approval is the Night Orchid in Baldur’s Gate 3. This alchemical ingredient will not only help you seek her approval and romance her in the game, but it also has some other benefits for you. However, you might not come across the orchids everywhere you visit in the Forgotten Realms. So if you are wondering where exactly to find it and gain Shadowheart’s approval or brew some solutions, then here is a guide you should check out further.

Night Orchids in Baldur’s Gate 3 are found mostly during Act 2 while going through the Shadow Cursed Lands. These orchids are scattered at different locations and can be hard to spot. The very first one that you will come across is northwest of the Shadowed Battlefield Waypoint located at these coordinates X:40 Y:36.

Another one is located northwest of the Last Light Inn around these coordinates X:56 Y:178. This is the area where you stumble upon the Harpers and help them battle against the Shadows in the game. One can be found near the He Who Was NPC who is located around the Camp in Shadow Cursed Land.

If you have a hard time finding them around the coordinates, make sure to scan the surroundings to make things more easy. With that being said, if you have missed collecting the Night Orchids in Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Shadow Cursed Land, there are a few places in Act 3 that you can visit to have them at your disposal.

During Act 3, after defeating Mother Superior in the Cloister of Sombre Embrace, players will stumble upon the Night Orchid Cave behind a wooden wall on the south side and inside the armory. However, it is worth mentioning that you will need to pass a successful perception check in order to break down the wooden wall. You will also find one inside a trunk in the Cazador’s Dungeon in BG3.

Once you have the Night Orchids at your disposal, you can hand them over to Shadowheart to gain her approval in the game. If you have plenty of them, you can use them to create the Solution of Night Orchid which is an essential ingredient for the Superior Elixir of Arcane Cultivation in the game.
