You will find the Dreaming General in a Lair called The General’s Keep. His Keep will be guarded by the Lost Battalion, one of the toughest enemy groups in Darkest Dungeon 2. You will have to clear them all before facing the Dreaming General.

You won’t only have to face the Dreaming General in this boss fight. Tap Root is the other entity alongside the main boss. Though you will only have to defeat the Dreaming General in Darkest Dungeon 2, you won’t survive if you ignore the Tap Root. The boss’ massive 205 HP can scare you. But you should be much wary of the Tap Root.
Tap Root Effects & How to Beat
Although it has only one type of attack called Creeping Growth, its effects can single-handedly take down your entire team if you are not careful. During every attack, the Tap Root will send two roots at random characters. If a particular hero gathers two of these Tap Root tokens, then their speed will be reduced. However, if they gather three of these tokens, then that player will lose the ability to use their Skills. To counter the Creeping Growth effect, we’d suggest that you attack the Tap Root twice during each turn.
