Animal Crossing New Horizons Dorado Catching Guide

Golden and shiny!

The Dorado is yet another fish that is available from June to those with islands in the Northern Hemisphere. We have already covered guides on how to catch the other creatures like the Great White Shark, Ribbon Eel, Rainbow Stag and Piranha. If you haven’t caught any of those yet, we recommend checking out their guides as well. In this guide, let’s find out how to catch the Animal Crossing New Horizons Dorado.

Animal Crossing New Horizons – How to Catch Dorado?

This fish will be available in the Northern Hemisphere in the months of June, July, August and September. For those in the South, you will get it from December to March.

Where To Find Dorado

Its spawn location is the river and it is available from 4 am to 9 pm. The shadow size of this fish is fairly large.

To catch this golden fish, first you need some fish bait. Then throw it into the river to begin fishing. When a shadow of a fish appears, see if it matches the size of Dorado. Let it bite the bait and then pull it out of the water using A button.

Once you catch it, you can either donate it or sell it. Its selling price is a whopping 15,000 Bells at the Nook’s Cranny which makes it quite a coveted fish. You can also wait and sell it to CJ instead who might give you 22,500 Bells for it.

If you choose to donate it and talk to Blathers for more information about this fish, he will tell you about the meaning of Dorado in Spanish and congratulate you for finding such a valuable fish.
