How To Get Backpacks Back Before They Disappear In LEGO Fortnite

Updated Date :

From various beasts to extreme temperatures, dying is very easy in LEGO Fortnite. So even though you can save yourself from hot or cold weather with a bit of preparation. If you die, you drop your backpack and end up losing all of your loot collected so far. However, the biggest concern players have is whether your backpack disappears.

Don’t worry this isn’t a Soulsborne game where if you die you only get one chance to go back to your place of death to retrieve your souls or runes. You still have to do the retrieving part, but it works a bit differently here. So here is everything you should know about it.

Do Backpacks Disappear When You Die in LEGO Fortnite?

No, the backpacks don’t disappear when you die, rather they stay on the spot of your death until you collect it. Unlike regular Battle Royale, where upon death your loot drops and gets scattered for anyone to pick. When you die in LEGO Fortnite, all of the things you collect during your playthrough stay inside your backpack available for you to pick. The only catch is you need to go back and pick it up.

The good news it stays there. So let us say you are on your way to collect it and die for some reason. Then it won’t get replaced with your new death location. Rather you still have to go back to your original death spot where you initially lost your backpack.

How to Find Your Backpack

When you die your backpack’s location will be marked on your map. In the game, you should try following the beam of light towards it. You can either trace back your steps to go back to where you died. Or if you spawn at a nearby camp then check the map to plan your route accordingly.

  • Press up on the D-pad of your controller. Or if you use a keyboard then press M.
  • Now, check the map to look for the backpack icon.
  • Once you find it, go there and press the E-key or the Square, the X or the Y button on your PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo controller.

You will now get it back!

That sums up how long before the backpack disappears in LEGO Fortnite and how to find it. While you are here don’t forget to check out our guide on what the triangle button means in Fortnite Festival.
