What Do Triangles Mean In Fortnite Festival? Arrows Explained

Published Date :

Fortnite Festival has added rhythm games similar to Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The goal is simple, you have to press the notes at the right time when they pass the bar. With some practice, you will soon be getting 5 stars in each track. However, not everything about the game is simple, as you amp up the difficulty you will notice a few triangles like upward-facing arrows appear between notes. The game doesn’t directly tell what to do with them.

These arrows add up to the confusion as they can add misinput and break your combo. Worry not, you just need to press your last note to deal with them. So here is how they work.

What are these Triangles or Arrows in Fortnite Festival?

The upward arrows you find between notes in Fortnite Festival are known as Lift Notes. In order to successfully play them, there are two things you can do:

  • Release The Note
  • Play Note Again

Release for the Lift Note

This is the thing you should practice for. Basically, let us say the lift note is for the F-key or the right button on the D-pad. You will notice it is sandwiched between two notes or after a note. So when you press the first note hold it instead of immediately releasing it. Now, when the arrow is about to hit the bar, release your note button and it will play. This way of playing the note is trickier and may require some practice to get used to.

Play your current note on the Arrow

This is easier than the above method. Basically, when you get the triangle, simply play the note of that line. For example, you are playing the notes for the X-button or Square button and you get a Lift note. Press it again as it passes the bar and it will play.

That’s all about how the Lift notes work in Fortnite Festival. While you are here don’t forget to check out our guide on how to avoid being hot or cold in LEGO Fortnite.
