Along with that, you can simply interact with the party member that you want to dismiss and tell them to stay at the camp in BG3. This will free up a space for you to add a party member and then head back to your quest. Since players can leave camp and teleport to the location that they entered it from, it would be quite useful to shuffle your party members in the midst of a quest.
For example, players can dismiss party members with lower Sleight of Hand ability if they want to Disarm Traps in BG3. This allows them to free up necessary space and replace them with a new party member who is better at this. Additionally, it works similarly if you need to add some particular type of character to your team by shuffling one of the party members.
