Now, this is a difficulty mode suitable only for hardcore players. The Contagion difficulty mode is playable only after purchasing the Season Pass. This difficulty setting or level would go live and be available on March 2023. As shared by the devs, this mode will have fewer supplies like health and ammo. Furthermore, the Contagion mode features permadeath. That means, if you die during the playthrough, you have to start from the beginning. To spice up things, this mode would also feature 13 additional death animations and Watchtower Skin. So, you might get some cutscenes that you cannot skip.
