Horizon Forbidden West Deep Trouble Quest Guide
Horizon Forbidden West is an open-world roleplaying game where you control Aloy in saving the World from destruction. Along the way, you must complete Quests, defeat Bosses, kill Machines, etc. Speaking of Quests, there is plenty of it in this game and many of them give some good rewards. One such quest is the Deep Trouble Side-quest. In this quest, you will have to same some people stuck in a dire situation. In this guide, I will show you how to complete the Deep Trouble Quest & save those people’s lives in Horizon Forbidden West.
How to Complete the Deep Trouble Quest in Horizon Forbidden West
The Deep Trouble Side-quest in Horizon Forbidden West takes place in the northwest from the Landing Lift of the Daunt Mountains. Over there is a Quarry in Crimson Narrows. As you get close to it you will see two Miners and the Mine is up in smoke. On talking to the Miner named Korvend, the leader of the Miners, you find out that there was an explosion and the Mine started to flood. Also, there are 2 more Miners stuck inside. Your task is to rescue them. To do the Deep Trouble Side-quest in Horizon Forbidden West, you will have to be at least Lvl 5. If you are, you will be able to do the Side-quest. The Side-quest goes as follows.
Part 1: Find the Missing Miners
After talking to Korvend, you will have to enter the Mine. As you enter it, there will be a small passage on the left side. Go through it and you will come up to the flooded area. Follow the tracks to find a cave opening above the Water. In the water, there are a few crates you can loot, just bear in mind that you lose Oxygen the longer you are underwater. Along the way, there will be yellow ledges that use can use to propel yourself. Once you go above the water, you will find the 2 missing Miners. The first part of the Deep Trouble quest in Horizon Forbidden West is done.
Part 2: Talk to the Miners in the Deep Trouble Quest in Horizon Forbidden West
Once you find them, you will have to go up and talk to them. After talking, you find out that the Miner’s names are Thorden & Lokuf. Also, Lokuf is injured and he has to be taken back safely. After talking to Thorden, you are tasked to blast the debris that is holding the flood in place. This ends the second part of the Deep Trouble quest in Horizon Forbidden West.
Part 3: Drain the Mine
After talking to Thorden, you will have to dive back down into the water. You will find a passage with tracks leading to the interiors of the cave. Along the way, there will be yellow ledges that use can use to propel yourself. Once you resurface, you find another large Cave opening. If you look up, you will find the explosives in a minecart. Cross the water body to the Track Structure. As you will climb up the Structure, you will end up in a cave of Burrowers. Now you have 2 choices, sneak undetected or silently take them down.
After dealing with them, follow the cave. It will lead you to a higher point. Now, you will be looking at the Track structure. There is a ladder on the ledge where you are standing. Make sure to drop it as it will become important later on. In front of you, there is a Crane like Wooden Beam. You will have to pull it with the Pullcaster. Climb it and you will be able to get to the Explosives. Pressing the Detonate Explosives button will trigger a Cutscene and you will have cleared the debris that was blocking the hole. All of the water will drain out. The third part of the Deep Trouble quest in Horizon Forbidden West is done.
Part 4: Return to the Miners
Now you will have to go back to Thorden & Lokuf. Along the way, you will encounter some Burrowers. You must defeat them before getting back to the Miners. Once you are done dealing with them, you will find a passage but it is blocked by some Crate Boxes. Use the Pullcaster to move them away, opening up the Passageway. Now, you will be able to make your way back to the Miners. Once you get to them, a cutscene will begin. Once the cutscene is over, the fourth part of the Deep Trouble side quest in Horizon Forbidden West is completed.
Part 5: Return to Korvend
Once you are done talking to the Miners, head towards the exit of the Mine and meet up with Korvend. As you get to the exit, you will see Korvend attending to an injured Miner. As you talk to Korvend, a cutscene will get begin. Once you have spoken to him, the Deep Trouble quest in Horizon Forbidden West is completed.
As a reward, you get 2 Skill Points, 1250 XP, & Oseram Artificer Face Paint. Certain things you must keep in mind are that there are Supply Crates & Caches scattered across the Mine, make sure to collect them to get some good loot.
