During your travels in the zombie-infested desert, you will see a Bank that can be looted. However, there’s a vault in that bank that requires a code to open and in this guide, we will explain how you can get it in Dead Rails.
How to Get the Bank Vault Code in Dead Rails
To get the vault code, you need to find a zombie that’s wearing a top hat. It should be nearby and when you take it down, it will drop a code. Keep an eye out for other zombies in the surroundings—if you’re playing with friends, they will cover you. Here’s a guide on how to get better weapons if you’d like to kill zombies faster. Moreover, if you or your teammates take damage or die, you need a bandage and/or snake oil to recover.
Once you have the code, click and drag it toward the vault, and place it on the floor. Then use this bank combo on the vault by turning the right number to point at the arrow at the top. The code should start appearing on the circle in the middle and if it’s accurate, the vault will open. Now you’re ready to loot everything that’s inside.
Note that the code isn’t the same for everyone—in fact, it will change every time you play a fresh round so make sure you take the code with you inside the bank.
If you don’t find the Top Hat zombie, especially during nighttime, you can also use an explosive to break open the vault. You need Dynamite which can be bought from the Gunsmith for $25. Equip it and place it near the vault and it will explode after a bit. You’re free to collect the valuable items inside and carry on your journey in the dangerous world.
