Diablo 4: How Crossplay & Co-Op Works

Looking to slash through Sanctuary with your friends? Here's our guide on how co-op, cross play, and cross progression work in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 players can co-op with their friends via crossplay right from the start. Blizzard is launching the game for the first time on different platforms right from the start and they are making the best use of it by introducing cross-platform co-op gameplay. So if you have a friend playing on a different platform, you will be able to join them while hacking and slashing demons through Sanctuary. Since it’s a new game mechanic for most players, this Diablo IV guide will help you join in a game with your friends.

Does Diablo 4 Have Crossplay?

Diablo 4 Cross Platform Play Co-op Explained

Yes, Diablo 4 does have crossplay feature that will allow you to co-op with your friends through Sanctuary. Since Lilith and Inarius will prove to be formidable foes, players are wondering if Diablo will return to the game as well. Well, whatever it may be, you will still be able to face the challenges with your friends. Since Diablo IV is linked to Blizzard’s Battle.net, a PC player can easily co-op with a PlayStation or Xbox player across platforms.

How to Unlock Co-Op in Diablo 4

Co-op in Diablo 4 will be locked at the start and you won’t be able to cross-play (or even play on the same platform) with your friends unless you unlock it. All you have to do is complete the Diablo IV Prologue and reach the city of Kyovashad in the Fractured Peaks. You will now have access to co-op with your friends.

How to Add Friends to Co-Op in Diablo IV

Adding friends is quite easy and once you unlock co-op, you can simply form a party of four by adding them from the game menu. Additionally, players can also add friends through the Battle.net list and then invite them to co-op in Diablo IV. However, do keep the max party limit in mind while you look to Co-op in Diablo 4.

Does Diablo IV have Cross Progression?

If you have more than one device, you need to link Diablo IV to your Battle.net account and then you will have cross-progression saving available. For instance, you can save the game on your PC at level 10 and then continue on your PlayStation or Xbox from the same place.
