The fight to defend the Super Earth won’t be easy, and you will face several challenges when going up against the Terminids or Automatons. In one of the many such missions, you will have to Eradicate Bug nests and destroy their eggs. While destroying them can be pretty straightforward, the former can sometimes confuse players. So here are the different ways you can close the Bug holes in Helldivers 2.
How to Close Terminid Holes to Eradicate Bug Nests in Helldivers 2
To close Bug Holes, you must throw a grenade inside them. Since they are explosives, any other similar explosive weapon should do the trick whenever you are out of grenades. By default, you only get 4 grenades when starting a new mission, so you should hold onto them.
- Equip the Grenade when you spot a Bug Nest.
- Walk up to it and ensure you are within the range to throw in its general direction so the grenade goes inside the hole, but you are also far enough not to get caught in the blast radius.
- Throw the grenade and run away from the hole to be extra safe.
- When it blasts, the Bug Nest will be destroyed.
How to Destroy Nests without Grenades
As mentioned above, you can use most explosives to get the job done. If you are out of grenades, then you have a few options to work with. You can ask your teammates to close the holes if they have grenades to spare or use any of the following Stratagems or weapons:
- AR-23E Liberator Explosive
- Jar-5 Dominator
- Expendable Anti-Tank
- Recoilless Rifle
- Autocannon
- Orbital Gatling Barrage
- Orbital Airburst Strike
- Orbital 120MM HE Barrage
- Orbital 380MM HE Barrage
- Orbital Walking Barrage
These were to name a few, but you can always experiment with other explosives as well. Do know that some might not work regardless of how well you use them. For example, user u/Dry2061 on Reddit said that Cluster Bombs and Napalm didn’t close the bug holes for them. You can check their post here.
