Hogwarts Legacy has many spells that were featured in the Harry Potter movies, one such popular spell is Petrificus Totalus. Learning and keeping track of all the spells you have learned throughout the game can be a daunting task for sure. Thankfully, Petrificus Totalus is considered an Essential Spell in this game which means that it is one of those spells that is always accessible at a click of a button whenever required. Let’s learn how to use this spell and how to acquire it.
Before we get into the details about how to cast it, let’s learn what the spell is about. It is a stealth-based spell that can be used to quickly and silently eliminate some of the easier opponents. This spell can be used to bring down the number of your enemies. In a lot of cases, you can even use this spell to take out all the enemies in the surrounding area without alerting anyone.
How to Get and Cast Petrificus Totalus in Hogwarts Legacy
- In order to use Petrificus Totalus, you will first need to learn the Disillusionment spell. This spell makes it much harder for enemies to spot you. This spell can be acquired during the Secrets of the Restricted Section quest. It does not make you completely invisible so be careful as enemies can still get suspicious when you are in their line of sight.
- Once you have acquired the Disillusionment spell, you are now ready to use this spell. In order to cast it, use your Disillusionment Spell and sneak up behind an unsuspecting enemy. Once behind an enemy, you will get a prompt to press a button in order to cast Petrificus Totalus. Doing so will silently take out the enemy without alerting the surrounding ones.
- Keep in mind that it can only be used on weaker and smaller enemies. You can however upgrade it later in the game at character level 22 by using talent points. This upgrade gives you the ability to eliminate two enemies with a single cast.
