How to Call Plays in NBA 2K23
There are two ways to call plays in NBA 2K23. Let’s start with the first method which involves Positional Call Playing. Here’s how to Call play for all the supported platforms:
- Hit the L1 (PS), LB (Xbox), or L button (Nintendo).
- Now, you will see different buttons hovering above your team members.
- As you hit the button for that player, you will see different call play options.
- You can use the left and right triggers of your controller for more options.
- Then, select the suitable Call play you want to execute.
Follow the below steps for the second method:
- Alternatively, you can hit the left directional key on the D-Pad of your controller.
- This will prompt the Favorite plays menu section.
- You can select the default Call plays or your already created Call plays.
- Similar to the previous method, select the L1/Left Stick or the R1/Right stick on your controller to see more options.

How to Unlock Call Plays
- You can unlock the call plays feature by completing a side-quest by Zion Williamson.
- To trigger this side quest, you need to complete Uncle Bobby’s main quest.
- This side-quest will task you with completing 25 leadership skills to get the on-court Coach badge.
- Once you have completed all of the goals for the side-quest, you will unlock the call plays in MyCareer.
