Zelda Breath of the Wild has a lot of interesting mods to try out. Here I’ll share with you some of my personal favorites. They are sure to enhance your experience by changing the visuals in some of the most interesting and wacky ways. Note that these mods are for the Nintendo Switch so these sadly won’t work for the Wii U. So, get ready as we go through some of the most random mods which are not only good but also funny.

Best LoZ Breath of the Wild (BOTW) Mods (2024)
These Zelda BOTW mods will change your weapons, shields, outfits, and even some of the NPCs in the game. Remember that they only change the visuals, so there won’t be any boosts to any of the stats of the original weapons or shields. Be sure to read the steps thoroughly on the webpage about the mods to ensure they work as they are supposed to. So, without further ado, let’s get right into the list.
Lego Lightsaber – One of the Best BOTW Mods
This mod will replace the Ancient Shortsword with a LEGO Lightsaber. As you may already know, LEGO Lightsaber is a popular weapon from the LEGO Star Wars game series. So with this weapon now you can take the high ground and defeat those guardians in style.
Zelda’s Ballad – Amiibo Outfits
Here is a mod that gives you not one, not two, not even three, but six outfits for Zelda. Brace yourself – you are about to get hit by the nostalgia train. That’s because this mod includes Zelda outfits from iconic games like Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and other Zelda games.
The Glass Shield NX
This is quite a simple mod that replaces your Savage Lynel Shield with a Glass Shield. The shield looks pretty neat as it has metallic borders and the rest of it is made out of glass. All in all, you will enjoy this if you have minimalistic taste.
Malice Link
Ever wondered how Link would look like if he was covered in malice? Well, no need to wonder anymore cause this mod does exactly that. In this mod you’ll see Link if Ganon had not only overtook the Divine Beasts but also his body. A truly dark moment for all of Hyrule if you ask me.
Dancing Monks
Remember I said that these mods won’t just be good but also funny? So here’s a funny mod for you – the dancing monks. You guessed it right, the monks behind the glass will be dancing and vibing by themselves. Didn’t find it funny? Don’t worry I’ve saved the best for the last.
Play as a Grill
Would you like to play as a grill? You know you’ve always thought what Link would look like if he was a grill. Don’t worry this isn’t a typo. I literally mean a grill and not a girl. This mod actually makes Link a grill. Although it will make Link too hot to handle so play at your own risk.
