Have you hit the maximum D4 material cap? Find out everything about the Blacksmith Inventory bug in Diablo 4.

Facing the Blacksmith Inventory bug in Diablo 4 is currently one of the most annoying factors for players. Since Blacksmiths in D4 can salvage, repair, and upgrade your gear to max stats, they are the most important NPCs for your builds. With the upcoming Season 1 update, you can expect a plethora of players lining up for these NPCs. But as players interact with a Blacksmith, players are reportedly getting the “Bags are full” error. Despite the inventory being empty after a run, interacting with the Blacksmith will trigger this dialogue. So, what is causing this bug or glitch? And is there a way to fix it? Find out everything about the Blacksmith inventory bug.

Diablo 4 Blacksmith Inventory Bug is Annoying for Players

As confirmed by many D4 players on Reddit, the Blacksmith Inventory bug is not gamebreaking. While a handful of players are facing this bug after the recent maintenance patch, many are facing this error long before the patch. Since this bug is not causing any in-game issues, there are some workarounds suggested by the Diablo 4 community to bypass it. To resolve this error, turn off the “Player Audio on error” under Sound Settings in-game.

However, note that toggling this option off will also turn off all the cooldown prompts. Whenever you pick an item that you don’t have any space for, your character won’t state anything. In addition, your character won’t mention “not having enough mana, or the “bag is full” dialogue. But if you don’t wish to listen to such error messages, we recommend turning off the setting.

Speaking of the reason for the Blacksmith Inventory bug in Diablo 4, a majority of fans have been scratching their heads over it. While earlier it was believed to be caused due to enabling crossplay, many players encountered the “bag is full” error even after turning it off. So, playing cross-play with your friends or other players isn’t the problem here.

We suggest checking your Inventory if you haven’t already. Similar to many players, you might be encountering this error if your Inventory space is full. As commented by players on the Reddit thread, this error could also stem from the excess invisible items near Blacksmith. This includes gems, crafting mats, Sigil dust, and other invisible materials near the vendor.

Considering the upcoming maximum item cap in D4, the Blacksmith inventory bug won’t be a trouble in the future. As confirmed by devs on Campfire chat, the current material cap limit of 9,999 will be increased before the Season 1 release. So, it won’t be much longer before this non-game-breaking bug becomes non-existent.
