Best Games Like Fortnite – Battle Royale and More

Updated Date :

In later 2017, a little game called Fortnite: Battle Royale started taking the world by storm. While the game’s main iteration Save The World wasn’t as well-received, Battle Royale suddenly became the hottest thing to happen in gaming circles. It didn’t introduce the genre, but it did do great things with it. So as the battle-royale genre is winding down, gamers around the world are looking for similar games. Without further ado, here are the best games like Fortnite, presented in no specific order:

Best Battle Royale Games 2020

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)

At the start, PUBG was the main competition for Fortnite. The game became quite popular right around the time Fortnite was, Sure, the game isn’t as well updated as Fortnite is, but in terms of pure no. of players and popularity, PUBG is a second close to Epic Games’ popular hit. The mobile port – PUBG Mobile, is even more popular than the main game in certain countries like India.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends practically blew up overnight. It offered something new and exciting and was much more unique in its approach when compared to its contemporaries like PUBG or Fortnite. The ping system was particularly helpful, as it allowed players to not even use their mic for communicating. Developer Respawn has continued to support the game by adding new characters, maps and modes, making sure Apex Legends becomes one of the best games of 2019. It offers a unique style unrivaled by any other battle-royale.

Overwatch

Overwatch Legendary Edition Switch

Overwatch became a global phenomenon when it came out, quickly rising to the top of the charts. This arena shooter has plenty of unique characters to choose from, each with their own unique powers and abilities. It may not be a battle-royale, but the end goal for most solo modes is the same – Be the last one standing. This is the reason why we believe it’s one of the best games like Fortnite, but not in the same category as a battle-royale. The game was so popular that we’re also getting a sequel soon!

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 – Blackout

Call of Duty: Black Ops IV may not have a single-player campaign, but that’s not why you clicked on this list. The game offers a really fun battle royale mode with its own CoD flavor, which is pretty hard-hitting on nostalgia if you’re a fan of old school CoD multiplayer. If you still want a great single-player story mode to go along with it, then look no further than 2019’s installment – the Modern Warfare remake.

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds may feel like more of a meme than a game, but that doesn’t stop it from being fun. The game’s wonky physics and a charming design make it a unique competitor to Fortnite. The game also has unique weapons, maps and modes to go along with it!

H1Z1 Battle Royale

In many ways, H1Z1 inspired all the battle-royale games that came after it. Long before BR games were getting millions of views on Twitch, H1Z1 was one of the most popular games like Fortnite. It’s a shame though that its popularity has dwindled down over the years. It still gets updates every so often, and you might be surprised at its zombie shooting mechanics. It might sound cliche, but killing zombies is still fun regardless of what game it is.

Battlefield V: Firestorm

Battlefield V may just be the prettiest game with a BR mode out there. The game showed one of the first integrations with raytracing when it came out. With the success of Firestorm in Battlefield V, a next-gen installment has been confirmed to be in development. We’ll be looking forward to that game in the future, we’re also really hyped for any and all updates coming to Battlefield 5 throughout the year.

So that’s it. Those are the best games like Fortnite that you can play right now, at least in our opinion.
