Southern Islets

- Longitude – 52.5
One of the best base locations in the game is located on the southern coast of Southern Islets on the island. Players will come across a naturally built cave structure which would help them set up their camp easily in the game. The cave has a relatively small opening on either side making it one of the best locations to survive any dinosaur species. Besides the cave, you will also find an explorer note in the game. You will find most of the resources on the west and east sides of the cave. You will also find a hidden cave on the east side of the coast which too can make a great base.
The Footpaw

- Longitude – 24.4
Players will stumble upon a nice flat plateau in the given coordinates located in the Footpaw area of the island. The plateau might make things easier for players while building their base. And not to mention, you will come across another Explorer Notes right on the platform. It is surrounded by water on all sides with cliffs making it harder for different dinosaurs to enter. However, you will have to explore other areas of the maps for different resources like metal pods, crystals, etc from here.
Herbivore Island

Herbivore Island is one of the best-starting base locations that you will find on the island in Ark Survival Evolved. As the name suggests, the island is filled with only herbivorous dinosaurs which are highly tameable in the game. This also makes the island one of the safest places to explore. The only downside is unless you have the proper equipment and resources, it’s a long way from the southern coast and will take some time for you to reach there. The Herbivore Island can be pretty and have pretty scarce resources.
The Western Approach

You will find a thin strip of land alongside the western coast south of the Western Approach in the game. While you will rarely come across any dinosaurs or creatures, the whole strip is filled with different resources for you to obtain. In the northern part, there is a water source that you can utilize and build a base accordingly. And going even further you will come across tons of resources from Oil to Metal to even Crystals in the game. Everything considered, this is one of the best base locations on the island.
The Default

This is one of the default locations for most of the players after spawning in the south zone one in the game. And while it might not be the best base location on the island in Ark Survival Ascended considering the place can be barraged with raptors, it is one where you can build a starting base. The area has a good amount of resources that you can obtain while starting in the game. We would recommend you build a base on some elevation near the cliffside area to avoid ambush from the raptors.
