Best Adamantine Forge Items Ranked In Baldur's Gate 3

These are the best Adamantine Forge items ranked in Baldur’s Gate 3:

  • Adamantine Splint Armour
  • Adamantine Shield
  • Adamantine Longsword
  • Adamantine Scale Mail
  • Adamantine Scimitar
  • Adamantine Mace

Adamantine Splint Armour

Although it has quite a lot of similarities with the Scale Mail, the Splint Armour is miles ahead. One of the most notable features is that enemies won’t be able to land a Critical Hit on the wearer. Paired with this, the Intense Adamantine Backlash and your opponent will have the Reeling effect for 3 turns providing your character a much needed advantage in tougher battles. A base Armour Class of 18 and the Magical Plate feature allows your character to take up reduced damage.

While it has its disadvantages for a few class, it’s probably one of the best armors in the game. Unless you have a class that has the Heavy Armor proficiency, the Splint Armour won’t be useful. Along with that, players will have disadvantages during Stealth Checks. The splint armour falls under the very rare class so you will find other uses for it. Having said that, the item can be sold for 3800 Gold so if you don’t have a character on the team that will find this useful, this is the best way going forward.

Adamantine Shield

Combine the Adamantine Shield and the Splint Armour and you are practically invincible against your enemies. There will surely be at least one chartacter in the party who would have the Shield proficiency and hence, you can make the best use out of it. Players can have unique Reeling effects against enemies and with lesser damage taken. Since the wearer is not affected by Critical Hit, you won’t have to worry about facing heavy damage.

One of the best parts of the Adamantine Shield is the Shield Bash ability that allows you to knock enemies prone once they try a melee attack on you. Since it is a shield, you are likely to find use for it since selling it isn’t exactly profitable. However, since it is one of the best Adamantine Forge Items, you should definitely craft it.

Adamantine Longsword

Next in the list is the Adamantine Longsword, a powerful weapon with the Versatile trait is hard to come by and you can certainly find use for it in your party. Although you might find the 6-15 damage level lower, the abilities of this Longsword are pretty useful. However, compared to the other weapons you get via the Adamantine Forge, this Longsword holds its own.

While Diamondsbane is a common feature in all Adamantine weapons, the Longsword also has the Lethal Weapon ability that can ignore resistance to Slashing damage. Although it is the best Adamantine weapon compared to others, it’s best if you invest your Mithral Ore for something like the Shield or Armor.

Adamantine Scale Mail

Another Very Rare armour, the Adamantine Scale Mail is almost as good as the Splint Armour lacking in one or two regions. It’s a medium armor and reduces all damage, including magical damage by one. Similar to the Splint Armour, enemies won’t be able to land a Critical Hit on the wearer and there is an AC bonus from Dexterity limited to +2. There is a primary AC of 16 already on the armour but it won’t be as helpful unless your character has somewhat medium Dexterity.

The Adamantine Backlash is active here as well so players can send their enemies Reeling back when they try to melee you. You are likely to find a better armor unless your chartacter’s dex is high. Luckily, you can sell it off and get a good price of 1300 gold for it.

Adamantine Scimitar

The Adamantine Scimitar is the next in line of weapons that you can forge and although it is good, not so much compared to many other weapons you can get. Apart from the Diamondsbane, it also shares the Lethal Weapon ability with its weaponry partner the Longsword. However, it is nothing close to that in terms of damage and other abilities.

Compared to the Longsword, the Scimitar and the Mace come no where close in damaging opponents. Although it can a useful weapon for a few instances in the game, it’s largely a waste of Mithral Ore and players can easily find better weapons.

Adamantine Mace

Adamantine Mace is the worst among the three weapons that you can forge and is the least useful item among the best Adamantine Forge items. The only thing that it shares with other weapons on the list is the Diamondsbane ability. Its Lethal Weapon ability provides Bludgeoning Resistance which is only useful for a few objects or breaking walls.

With a very low damage output, it’s far more useless than the Scimitar and the only use you will find for the mace is to use it as a tool. The gold returns are not up to the mark either so best if you skip this item altogether.
