Radagon of the Golden Order is the last boss in Elden Ring that you need to beat to complete the game. Well, technically he is the second last boss. For being the end boss he has some good moves and gives players the right amount of challenge. So without further ado let us check how to defeat Radagon of the Golden Order in Elden Ring & its cheese method.
How to Defeat Radagon of the Golden Order in Elden Ring
You can defeat Radagon of the Golden Order in Elden Ring by learning his attack pattern and hitting him in between his moves. This is easier said than done, but this is quite a balanced boss. He deals a good amount of damage while being fast. But unlike some bosses, he is not too fast with weak attacks, or too slow with heavy attacks. Another thing to remember about this fight is this boss deals a lot of Holy damage. So you might want to equip or upgrade some shield to resist it. Below are all its moves and how you can counter them.
Radagon moves
- Stomp and thrust: It will stomp its foot on the ground then thrust its hammer at you. You can dodge this attack by rolling to the side or away from it.
- Backslash hammer: As the name suggests Radagon backslashes with its hammer. This attack also does AoE damage. You can recognize this attack by him taking his hand behind and charging it up.
- 3 combo slash: He will swing his hammer thrice in the following order: forward slash, backward slash, and down slash. This attack can also be easily dodged by rolling to the side.
- Charged slashes: Radagon will raise his hand and charge the hammer. In his first attack, he will diagonally smack it down dealing AoE damage on the ground. And then follow it up with a charged backslash upwards that also does AoE damage.
- Charged Stomp and smack: Radagon will charge its leg and stomp it on the ground. This will light up the ground in golden color and deal AoE damage. Next, he will jump and smack his hammer on the ground. This attack too covers a big range and does AoE damage. You can dodge these attacks by rolling away from them.
- Dash strike: If you create a medium distance between you and him, Radagon will dash at you while doing a hammer strike.
- Golden spear strike: This is a slightly confusing attack Radagon will disappear and in his place, you will see a Goldenrod. This rod explodes and does AoE damage. Radagon appears at the spot of the explosion and jumps & thrusts a spear on the ground in an attempt to impale you. This thrust also does AoE damage. Lastly, this attack creates somewhat of a summon-looking symbol on the ground, where he will spawn from.
- Jump strike: Radagon will jump in the air and strike you with a charged hammer. Once the hammer connects with the ground it does AoE damage covering a huge area. You can run or roll in the opposite direction to avoid this attack.
Other than the above-explained moves Radagon will do many more types of strikes. Many times these strikes will be charged. When phase 2 begins he will get more aggressive. There is no defined cue for phase 2 like a cut scene. But you can recognize the second phase when his health is half and by his attack aggression and use of more charged & AoE attacks.
Recognize all of these moves explained above and attack him accordingly. Once you learn all his moves and attack pattern you will start countering them and defeat him in no time.
How to Cheese Radagon of the Golden Order in Elden Ring
You can cheese Radagon of the Golden Order in Elden Ring by using Terra Magicus and Comet Azur. Terra Magicus is a sorcery in Elden Ring that creates an area on the ground. It boosts the magic damage of the sorceries you cast while in this area. And comet Azur as we already know is one of the most broken sorceries in this game. But while the above part is the gist of it you need to follow some steps to one-shot Radagon. Thanks to Powerpyx for sharing this cheese method.
- As soon as you traverse the Golden mist run to his left side before Radagon has a chance to finish his animation.
- This will break and cause him to freeze.
- Now you cast Terra Magicus and follow it with Comet Azur. He won’t move or strike back so you can eliminate him in one shot of Comet Azur.
While this method works ideally for Mages. Melee characters can try to freeze him and spam their attacks. But unlike Comet Azur there is a chance of Radagon striking back on physical attacks. Since this cheese isn’t tested for melee characters yet, you will have to try it for yourself.
If you need some extra steps with the cheese then you can check their video below.
Remember the fight isn’t over after beating him. Once you beat him his second form appears the Elden Beast, the final boss of the game.
